After graduating with a B.A. in Music from Pomona College in Claremont, CA, I was given the opportunity to teach as a long-term substitute at Portage High School.  With the encouragement of the teachers at Portage, I entered a teacher training program at Lipscomb University and taught math for three years in Nashville, TN.  Upon returning to Wisconsin, I taught at Columbus High School for a four years before becoming fortunate enough to come to Pardeeville to teach math and help coach basketball and track.
